Tillman Voted A Starter For The 2013 NFL Pro Bowl

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Charles “Peanut” Tillman, who made 284 tackles in four seasons as a member of the Ragin' Cajuns football team from 1999-2002, has been selected as a starter for the 2013 NFL Pro Bowl, which will be played on an. 27 in Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. The AFC and NFC teams were announced by the NFL on Wednesday.
Tillman, who leads the Bears with 71 tackles this season with 10 fumbles forced and three interceptions, made the team for the second time. He will be joined by teammate Tim Jennings to become the first cornerback teammates named Pro Bowl starters in 24 years.
Tillman, who is completing his 10th season with the Bears, was also selected to the Pro Bowl after making a career-high 99 tackles in 2011.
An All-American choice for the Cajuns as a senior in 2002, he was named an All-Independent selection in 2000 and was a two-time All-Sun Belt Conference pick. Tillman ended his Louisiana career with 284 tackles, 12 interceptions, seven fumble recoveries and three blocked punts.
Tillman was the third pick in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears.
As a Bear, Tillman was named Sports Illustrated Rookie of the Year and NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2003. He has recorded 804 tackles, 33 interceptions, 39 forced fumbles and eight touchdowns.
Tillman has received the prestigious Walter Peyton Man of the Year award four times, Brian Piccolo award twice, Ed Block Courage award and NFL Neighborhood MVP award. He has been an ambassador of the University with his pregame introduction of “Charles Tillman, Cornerback, THE University of Louisiana”.
Charles received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Louisiana in 2001, needing just 3-1/2 years to earn his degree.
