The Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced Monday afternoon that Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball senior Krystal Motley was named Louisiana Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Motley led the Ragin' Cajuns to a 2-0 week which improved their overall season record to 3-4.

Motley finished the week averaging 23.0 ppg on 14-of-27 for 51 percent from the field. The senior has now scored double figures in each of the five games she has played in this year.

Motley started the week off by scoring a career-high 27 points in a road win over Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday shooting 7-of-10 from the floor including, 3-for-3 from behind the arc and a perfect 10-of-10 from the charity stripe. In the second half, she scored 14 points and didn't miss a single shot from the field or the free throw line as they closed out SELU.

Motley finished off the week on Saturday by leading UL in scoring again, tallying 19 points and five rebounds in a win over Southern. She scored 12 points in the second half as the Cajuns came back to get the victory after trailing at halftime.

Motley and the Ragin' Cajuns take the week off for final exams before a rematch on Sunday, December 11, against Southeastern Louisiana at Earl K. Long Gym with a 2:00 p.m. tipoff.
